1. Measure Twice, Buy Once

After you take your first measurement, write down the circumference in inches or centimeters, and measure again. If the second measurement you get the same size, maybe you are on the right track.
However, if the number that comes out is quite different from the first, you can take the measurement a third time. You need to do this to get the same size and you are sure that you are buying the right hat.
2. Size Up, Not Down
When you measure your head and the measurement is between the numbers, it’s best to round to the next 1/8 inch. This is because downsizing can cause the hat to be too tight and uncomfortable for you.
So, you should be sizing up because you can reduce the size of your hat. Then, having a hat in the right size can make you safe and comfortable when wearing it.
3. Don’t Pull The String Tight
How measure hat size is to use a piece of string or a flexible measuring tape. When you use both, avoid pulling it too tight after it is wrapped around your head.
Pulling it too tight or too loose can change the size of your head and lead to the wrong hat size. So, you can pull the string as tight as you want so that the hat feels like resting around your head.
